Cebu’s celebration of World Fair Trade Day will feature “Run for Green Life 2011″ that will be staged at the UC Banilad Grounds on May 29, Sunday.
Together with leisure biking, the Run banners 3k, 6k and 15k distances that will feature runners and bikers from Cebu and nearby provinces and cities.
WFTD activities in Cebu are jointly organized by the Southern Partners and Fair Trade Center, The Fair Trade Shop Cebu and the Cebu Fair Trade Network.

The Fair Trade Shop Cebu celebrated its first year anniversary last Sunday, August 8, which was greatly supported and attended by partner producers, partner communities, volunteers, advocates and other Fair Trade converts. It was a fun-filled celebration full of Fair Trade stories, news, products, food and music!

Fair Trade products (bags, scarves, fashion accessories, etc) were showcased in the Fair Trade Eco Fashion Show. Volunteers from the Global Exchange Team and SETEM became ramp models for the show.

As part of the celebration, the shop officially launched the “I want to be FAIR” campaign. The campaign aims to stir up public awareness about the Fair Trade advocacy and how it helps in creating social equalities especially in terms of business and trade practices.

The Fair Trade Shop Cebu and the Global Xchange Team 107 are choosing to be FAIR.
This August, their unified statement is- “I want to be FAIR, do you?”
The Fair Trade Shop Cebu will be celebrating its first year anniversary this coming August 8. As part of the celebration, the shop will be launching the “I want to be FAIR” campaign.
The campaign aims to inform and to mobilize the public about the Fair Trade advocacy and how it helps in eradicating social inequalities especially in business and trade.
The full campaign ads as well as the campaign launch will all happen this August 8 at The Fair Trade Shop Cebu office Room 102 Jose Martinez Building, Osmena Boulevard, Cebu City. A big product sale will also take place in the said event.
